Professional Bio
Carolyn Levy is a PhD candidate working under the direction of Dr. Lori Ginzberg in the dual-title PhD program with the Departments of History and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Levy's dissertation, Benevolent Surveillance: Prison Matrons and Women's Prison Reform in Nineteenth-Century America, focuses on the development of systems of incarceration and women's prison reform in the United States.
