Professional Bio
Yi-Ning Zhao is a dual-title Ph.D. candidate in Art Education and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at The Pennsylvania State University. Her research and creative practice center on transnational feminist and art-based approaches to art education, with a particular focus on embodied knowledge and the transnational experiences of Asian/Chinese women educators. Drawing from her transnational educational background as an immigrant scholar-artist, her work explores how bodies, identity and aesthetics emerge within higher art education and visual culture. She holds a B.F.A., an M.F.A., and an M.A.
