Professional Bio

Rosemary Jolly is Weiss Chair in the Humanities and Professor of Comparative Literature, English, Bioethics, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and African Studies. Jolly's areas of specialization include: postcolonial/decolonial literatures, theory, and criticism; the medical humanities; and narratives of trauma, resistance and resilience. She has dual specialties in sub-Saharan African literatures and intercultural ‘global health’ narratives and interventions, especially in the contexts of gendered violence and infectious disease.
