Dual-title Ph.D. candidate in Comparative Literature and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
Professional Bio
Olanireti Falade is a second-year Ph.D. graduate student with a research focus that operates at the intersection of African oral performance, gender, and decolonial thought, specifically on how artistic expressions - oral, written, and visual - are used to challenge and confront historical erasure, political hegemony, and patriarchal systems of marginalization. She investigates the adaptation of traditional performance narratives from orality to literary and digital forms and explores how these evolving modes reflect and resist gendered sociopolitical realities in the global south.
