Professional Bio

Jeanine Staples is professor of literacy and language, African American studies, and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. Staples’s areas of specialization are: new literacies studies, race and gender theory, urban studies, teacher education, sociocultural studies and popular culture inquiries, and educational anthropology.
