Miriam is a Ph.D. candidate in the English + Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies dual-title program. Her research, which focuses on the environmental humanities, draws on queer and feminist scholarship in ecocriticism, American Studies, and multi-ethnic US literatures to establish material and textual sites through which individuals and communities can engage with the environments and ecosystems in which they live and work. During 2019-20, she will be working as an assistant with the Public Writing Initiative and serving as President of the English Graduate Organization.
