Jessica Birkenholtz interviewed for “Nepal Conversations” podcast

Jessica Birkenholtz, associate professor of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies and Asian studies, was recently interviewed for a podcast called Nepal Conversations, hosted by Uma Pradhan and Kumud Rana, for a discussion on gender in Nepal. The interview focused on her work on Nepal’s celebrated goddess Svasthani and her annual ritual tradition (which began on January 17, 2022), as well as on religion, sexuality, and Nepal’s queer community, which is the focus of her new project.
